BS 5385:Part 4 - 2 wks before use shower?? in the
Tiling Forum at TilersForums;
I know that after tiling and grouting a shower BS recommend not using shower for 2 weeks to comply with BS 5385:Part 4:2009, clause 7.2.1..
DOES anyone know why. Adhesive ... -

DOES anyone know why. Adhesive is dry and grout is dry (manufacturer recommended times ) usually 24hours +. What takes 2 weeks.?
Tensile/structural strength..

Cement adhesive may have set but need's the time then to cure to give their full strength, thats why 2-4 weeks

Thanks guys...Now I know why i am telling clients not to use shower for 2 weeks..They are often dissapointed when all is finnished and i say can't use shower.
