    Default 2012 Olympics

    Does anyone know who has the tiling contract for the 2012 Olympics. contact details etc... Job vacancies.... I was told it was W.B. Simpson and starts February/ March 2010 but can't find anything on this.

    Phoned WB Simpson & Sons. Was told they have not been given a contract yet but have put in a tender.
    There must be quite a few contractors that have or will be given a contract.

    I know of a couple of tilers that sub to Simpsons and they havent heard anything about it either.

    As far as I know the tenders are down to last 3 companys for aquatics centre, tenders involve laying the concrete and laying of underfloor heating. Something like 12,000 m2 of 120x120, sounds a right ball ache to me.

    Aquatics centre is Balfour Beatty, Mcalpines are doing the stadium, The usual crew are already in the party, John Sisk, Gallifords, Murphy.
