| Urgent help needed please | | Morning all
I need a little advice please
Currently tiling kitchen and have come to the window.
The height from the worktop to the window is 15 cm and i am using 10cm tiles, can you tell me if the cut tile goes on the top or the bottom ? i would say top but just want to make sure !
Also the window ledge ,does the cut tile go at the back and the full tile to the edge ?
Many thanks look forward to you r responses

| Re: Urgent help needed please | | Cheers fella that i will do !
No one will be able to cut ther paws anyway as i will have the trim on !
Suppose the cut side to the worktop will have sealant over it anyways
Mmmm but then again i have already put a few tiles on the area to the right hand side reckon i should rip them off and defo have the cut at the bottom ?

| Re: Urgent help needed please | | you should always work straight off the work surface (providing it is level) as for the cuts it would obviously be on the tile leading in to the window. Tiling is all about forward planing when you put on your very first tile you should know how big or small the cuts are around windows in to walls etc. Where you put that first tile will dictate the whole kitchen within reason (new walls can be adjusted slightly in terms of rap around of corners),hope that helps... | | |

| Re: Urgent help needed please | | I am not saying I disagree with Vince tiling has differing styles I have done many jobs in this style and it was how I was trained to do it off the work top full tile and in to the window if the surface is level you can leave a small 2 mm spacer on your work surface to aid with your movement joint, which you will need to silicone when finished. | | |

| Re: Urgent help needed please | | I always try to balance out cuts if its a large window or feature area, and would maybe go half and half leaving a good bit extra to run along the top of the bench and tidy it up quite a bit (depends whos opinion). If however you are restricted with this, I'd place your vert/corners and eyeball the best looking 90 cut finish, will depend where your best and most balanced cut is. | | |

| Re: Urgent help needed please | | Personally, would work up from the work top (on the assumption it has been fitted level) and cut into window myself, though without actually seeing the job, advice and opinions can vary, so I may have got completely the wrong idea.

| Re: Urgent help needed please | | If I am understanding the post correctly I would have the full tile coming up from the worktop and then the cut tile leading to the window ledge.
----
And on the window ledge itself, the cut tile to the back. | Varley
