have just laid a slate floor. everything ok until grout set. was meant to be charcole but about 10% charcole 10% light grey 80% white! looks really bad. i was told its probably effervecence residue and an acidic cleaner would bring it off, but have tried and, if anything just looks whiter! can anyone help? i've dug out about 3mm to see if its dark under the surface but it doesnt appear to be. please help!

If you mixed according to the instructions on the bag...then give there technical line a buzz and see if a rep will call out...could be a faulty batch. or you could have added to much water to the mix or too much water when washing off........what make of grout was it..out of interest........dave...

I must admit I used to use granfix all the time and never had any problems with it, have switched to BAL now though just because it's the dogs b*****ks!

However, although I never had any problems with Granfix grout I have read a few people on this forum have, as Guy above states, especially the darker colours.
