Default Warning

HI just to let people know to take care when cutting through flooring,

I almost got killed to-day installing new shower base problem was the old base was built up to about ten inches of the floor the shower drain outlet ran over floor to the window wall then went through the floor at an angle to catch the down pipe, so gets the new shower base which is resin bonded one this lays flat on floor, so to get the fall for the drain outlet i have to cut through floor,

Now as this is chipboard its hard to know where pipes and cables are, now i though pipes and cables where put through joists or had a plate on top of where they would be so as you dont put a nail through them WRONG some idiot had just cut a little grove with not cover on them i spotted the electric cable lying there loose but not the water pipe which i cut through with my rip snorter fook water feature in the middle of the en-suite bathroom, luckly i carry my plumbing gear with me had to do a frantic repair just at that the owner came home water going through the ceiling she was fine about it as i showed her why i had cut through the pipe, so be very careful
