STOP COLD CALLERS NOW! Please?
It has come to our attention that an association in our industry is cold calling tilers to try and gain members. Please note that you can stop all cold/unwanted sales callers by registering your both your land line and mobile telephone numbers, for free, with the TPS by clicking here.
And then if you do get more calls after a week or so then please obtain the callers full contact details and report them to TPS by filling in this simple online form.
Cold calling is almost always a shocking and somewhat desperate attempt to gain sales from whatever type of company is calling you. If you want to buy something, always look into it yourself and never ever let anybody send you information packs if they have called you! - They would then have your address too!
This should also stop other cold callers that we're aware of, there are quite a few.
Once you have registered your telephone numbers, and then filed a complaint after receiving another call, the cold caller will get a letter in which they have to respond to. Once that has been logged they should take you off their database fully. If they don't, and you fill in another complaint form, the issue then gets escalated and they get a £5,000 fine for each second complaint.
It is important for you to spend a little time doing this, which then will give you more on the job, or at least confidence that each incoming call to your landline or mobile number is probably a potential customer.
Spend 10 minutes now doing this and you'll probably save hours over the coming months.

Re: STOP COLD CALLERS NOW! Please?
In addition to this info. I'd like to say that we have clocked that they are calling members that are not only already registered with TPS. The said members numbers can only be found on our own directories which clearly state that they can not be used for sales and marketing purposes.
Somebody is making a database of tilers of their own, and they're calling people who don't want to be called and in many cases of this type of call they're using dodgy misleading sales tactics to get you to sign up to something you didn't even know about before the call. We all know the type of call, we've probably all had many of them.
We wouldn't be bothered otherwise. But somebody is escaping fines here that shouldn't be. We need people to sign up, and then report the cold callers! Two very easy steps to take in this process and all using online forms.

I get plenty of cold calls, none from within the industry though.
Mostly people wanting me to change my gas or electric.

Re: STOP COLD CALLERS NOW! Please?
Register your numbers with TPS and I'm pretty sure they'll soon stop. If they don't, report them and then they'll stop. If they still don't they'll get a 5k fine when you report the same offender again.
