    Default Who knows?

Why when doing restoration work on old victorian/minton floors you nearly always come across one of the tiles (usually in a corner or out of the way) that is upside down?
I'm guessing that it's superstition and it's meant to be lucky, but anyone know where it originated? Maybe it only used to happen around here..... or is it the same all over the country?
