Discuss boarding out in the Tiling Forum at TilersForums; How do you tilers board out in say a bathroom ? (im a floorlayer by the way) i use 6mm ply and use template paper and a small streight edge ...

    How do you tilers board out in say a bathroom ? (im a floorlayer by the way)

    i use 6mm ply and use template paper and a small streight edge and template it on to the paper then transfer it on the ply then jig saw it . do you lot take the toilets out or leave them in ? just curoius thats all , and what mm ply do you use

    A lot depends on the floor, min 18mm wpb and all the sanitary wear out, what good would it be buried under 30mm of board and tiles ?

    hey PK, since the cement boards came out I no longer use plywood, 10mm is ok with normal flexi addy, no big step into the room for customers to disagree with.

    6 mm OK for vinyl but would have to be a lot thicker for ceramics
