| Re: gov grants? | | Same here, they were f****** useless in my area they told me that last year they could have given me £500 or if I lived in a different area, thanks for that.To be fair the staff were alright its just the goverment doesn't exactly help, its worth asking.
Apparently some of the lads from Scotland said Gateway were very good, not much use to us down here though. | | |

| Re: gov grants? | | You aren't going to get grants for vans and tools and stuff. Only thing you tend to get help with is things like marketing, employing people that have been out of work for a long time or "development" of a new or existing product. Oh and £100 for a "learning account".
You can sometimes get free help with business planning and basic bookkeeping course and such. If you do find something that you can get financial help with you almost always have to shell out the cash first and then claim it back. Paper work for all this is great fun. |

Dave | You need to be living in an area designated (something like) EU regeneration area. It is basically various postcodes that the EU have decided would benefit from grant assistance to promote growth of new businesses.
There is one 12 miles down the road form me, sadly that 12 miles makes all the difference as my post code has the wrong two digits in it - therefore, my area is "rich" enough not to require funding!!!!!
