Default cork on concrete floor

Hi
Im doing an ensuite floor (2m2) this week. The floor is concrete but on top is very thin cork tiles then you have carpet. The cork tiles are varnished and are securely attached to the concrete and pretty solid. Would it be ok to tile on top of the cork tiles if they are all as secure( and checking its all level)? If so do i use a primer?

cheers

Miss Tiler

Not come across this before but my instinct would be to remove them and tile onto the concrete substrate. I'll take note of comments from the experts who contibute on here.

Sorry MissT to tell you this but came across these recently and it took me an entire day to remove 7 square metres.

My room is smaller so hopefully it wont be too bad. The clients are giving it a go themselves so I'll see what happens.
All good fun!

The cork tiles would have been vanished, so they would have to come up. A horrid job. You really have to scrape down to the sub-strate, and then make sure that is ok to tile.
