alright lads, I got a small kitchen to tile next week and the customer wants me to tile over the existing tiles that are 15x15 ceramics, also someone has tried painting over the tiles and that is now flaking off the surface.
what is the best adhesive to use? i was gonna go for BAL whitestar is that ok?
and how best to remove all the flaky paint on the tiles??
wot ya reckon??

Rather than faff about removing paint, just remove the tiles...

Tiling on old flaky painted tiles? I reckon it's like asking a builder to build a house but saying I don't want foundations put down

Agree with previous replies. Could take ages to get the paint off and also you don't know how well the original tiling has been done, ie, is it okay or string enough to tile over?
Best to take the tiles off and start from scratch. Sell the idea to the customer and try to convince them it's for the best?

thanks for the replys fellas, i would like to take off the tiles and start from scratch but the only thing is the tiles are stuck on plaster board and i dont fancy ripping them off in case i damage the board and end up with big holes in the wall?????

I'd replace all the plasterboard as well then
