| Pricing a job!!! | | I am just starting out here in Australia when i quote a job i come away and then remember things i should have checked or asked.
Is there a routine you go through when you quote a job like what kind of tiles? what size?
Also how long does it take to get your business of the ground? what did you do at the start to get work?

| Re: Pricing a job!!! | | Hi jeff, what i do is measure up, see if there is any prep work, ask what trim they want colour, chrome etc, ask what tiles and if they havent choosen them i put on my estimate my price is for ceramics tiles. then if you get the job and they have chosen natural stone tile as you have to seal these etc so take lomger i can alter my price for this. I took me around two years to start getting really busy, i contacted all my tile shops, plumbers, builders in my area and sent them a leaflet, another good way is to park your sign written van in a tile outlets car park on a saturday or sunday if they are open. | | |

| Re: Pricing a job!!! | | Thanks Dave, sadly, can't take full credit as it was something passed on to me at my course, I obviously retyped it and put my own logo on it, and it is still open to improvements so if anyone has ideas about what needs to be added, please feel free to let me know. |
