Default Tiling up to Units. Help Please

    Advice please.
Hope Ive not asked to many questions.
When tiling up to wall and floor units is it better to take the tile to butt against the Unit? Or maybe leave a space for grout between?
What size tile spacers would you recommend for a kitchen cavity plastered wall using Porcelain 600mm x 300mmx10mm?
Would it be best to damp wall and tile First? Or leave dry?
(Using evo-stik powdered adhesive no real detail on bag)
Using a 10mm notched trowel would it would it be any advantage buttering both wall and tile?
When using BAL wall primer does it need to dry before tiling?

You need to make sure your adhesive is flexible first, as your tiles are porcelain.

It is usual to leave a gap between tiles and countertop/wall units and silicone this rather than grout

    Spacers prob 3mm

Need to consider whether your plastered wall can take the weight of those tiles as they are pretty hefty

    Hope this helps

Is that addy suitable for Porcelain? If it doesn't say on the bag, i'd opt for the safe option and get something else.

    1. You're going to prime the wall, so no need to damp it.

    2. Without seeing the state of the wall, it's impossible to say really. Personally i'd be looking at an 8mm trowel for the wall, and probably back-skim the tiles. If the wall is dead flat, i'd use 6mm.

    3. Primer needs to dry before tiling i believe.

Jimbob's right about those tiles being a bit heavy for plaster. If DIY i might risk it, but if it's for a customer, i'd be reluctant in case something went wrong and my insurance wouldn't cover it.
