    Default Kitchen and corridor

Hi guys. got a job at end of the month to tile a kitchen floor which leads into a long narrow corridor, customer wants tiles to run right through. I'm thinking of setting out the kitchen first so it looks good and then i'm guesssing i just have to accept the position the tiles end up in the corridor. Just looking for a bit of advice, is this what you guys would do or is there a better way? hopefully i'll get lucky and the kitchen and corridor will be centred anyway but i can't see it happening!

IMO, don't just accept the position that the tiles in the corridor end up in. Plan what you're doing, measure up accurately, maybe even dry lay the floor to some extent, and get the best layout possible. It might be that you can compromise a little with the tile layout in the kitchen to make the corridor look better. The kitchen will be your main concern but even so, don't just start with the kitchen and keep your fingers crossed that the corridor will look okay! Sometimes things work out fine, usually they do not!
Hope this helps, but also see what other responses you get on here?

Don't lay the first tile until you know where the last is going, your corridor could be the focal point but as above it will be a matter of getting a good balance of cuts

I done a kitchen floor at the start of the week leading into a back hall/utility and toilet.
i put the centre of the kitchen on the diamond, then framed it with half tiles laid square to walls and units, this meant as the tiles went out the door to hallway they were on the square and thats what i done, looked great and the tiles only cost £6m2.
