    Default Unknown Tile

    Hi there ive stated a thread on this subject as im looking for help Ive been told he was made in the 70,s By johnson tiles for the kensington station if anyone knows anything about him i would love to no he is made up from 6 inch tiles and is aprox 4 foot tall cheers Dave

    Looks like a tube line picture that Maw and Co. used to make. Can't tell from that picture. Has it got a raised line around the colour.This was piped on like icing a cake with a clay slip. This was fired, then the glazes were painted in like painting by numbers and refired.
    There is a company in Stoke that still makes them ,Phoenix Tile Studio, named since it rose from the ashes of Maw and Co.

    I agree with Max looks like Maw and Co they used to make lots of this type to order
