    Default Not a good way to run a business

    iv'e taken dilivery of my marmox boards from a company on the nett called marmox for you., well the state of the packs when they arrived on my door step, made me open them in front of the driver and check them out as we all know they are fradgile on the corners, no reinforcement at all on corners either , a minimum i would have thought, two sheets were smashed so made a note on drivers paperwork, then telephoned mormox for you, can you take pics and e-maile to us, yes did this ,then next day called them up again, did you gat the pics all right,yes wot do we do then do you drop off two more then take these other two back then!, NO WE ARE NOT TAKING THEM BACK!!! why because it's exeptible for building materials to be broken on corners and edges WELL WHAT A LOAD OF TROT the lady would not hear of takeing them back,NOW WOT DO WE DO,?? for starters DO NOT BY FROM THIS BAD ATTITUED COMPANY GUY/GALS,if anyone has any ideas please let me know Dave

    I would write an email to marmox direct and moan to them about the level of service you have just recieved from the suppliers, you never know they might replace them for you and have swift words with the supplier direct!

    Talk to Marmox about there suppliers, as they are now partners with hardi backer board from USA they may have a different out look on customer service.

    My tuppence-worth, Gooner is to suggest that you, firstly, make a note of everything that you have done so far - include both date and time in your notes as you will be amazed how quickly you will forget the fine detail. Secondly, write a letter, addressed to the Company Secretary, in which you detail everything that has happened so far. Be precise and try to write like a lawyer here -- i.e. no threats, insults or nasty language!

    Once you have written the letter, leave it a day before sending it to give yourself a chance to re-read it in the cold light of tomorrow morning. When you post it, send it recorded delivery and get the delivery advisement as well (I think you have to ask for the actual advisement these days).

    I always found that that approach worked more often than not - but if not, I was pretty quick at issuing a county court writ - easy and surprisingly cheap to do. That usually resulted in a very quick settlement, not least because costs were now getting added to their bill.

    I always used to keep notes of telephone conversations with times, because you never know when a job - or delivery - will go sour on you, do you. The "pleasures" of being in business, eh!

    Being nasty never gets your money back - unless you can do what they do here in Naples! But that way you have to be employing a few cops as well. .... I'm joking, Silvio! Really!

    Good idea .A reputable international company doesnt want bad publicity.The cost is nothing to them.Loss of reputation can be very expensive.

    H about this then, most of you know I bought a new build house a few months ago, there were afew minor problems, that the building company maintainance guy sorted pretty quickly.

    There were a few problems with the plumbing though, the ensuite sink has a pop up waste, the plugs O ring isnt thick enough so the sink doesnt hold water, same with the downstairs toilet sink, the toilet flush button is in two parts as it has a half flush as well as full flush, the smaller part of the button was missing, and there is a gap in the guttering at the back of the house.

    Nothing major here a few O rings or at worst new plugs, a button which just clips on and the guttering needs a new peice or clipping toghether properly.

    The plumbing copmany is based is Hull, so you would imaging they would want to get this done in one visit and not to have to waste loads of money of fuel.

    No..... They came no less that 7 times, bringing the wrong parts and forgetting the long ladders as its a three storey house, which they dont routinley carry on the vans.

    The one time they did remember to bring the right ladders only one bloke came and apparently two are needed when using the long ladders for health and safety.

    Now youd like to thing they would realise this when putting the ladders on the roof rack before setting off!!!

    The company has now gone bust, shame people are out of work but is it any wonder when the company has wasted so much fuel and wages

    Were now waiting for the new company to come and see what needs doing

    Do as suggested with the recorded delivery letter and I usually send a reminder before going to the small claims court. If you paid by credit card advise them as well as they have joint responsibility. If you want to discuss your 'moves' PM me.
