Re: tiling kitchen floor
Is it level? you could use slc if the floor isn't even. You could use a standard set instead of rapid gives you more time to work with.

Re: tiling kitchen floor
if you remove all the whites (washing machine etc), make sure they will fit back under work tops after tiling

Re: tiling kitchen floor
Do I need to prepare the floor and what adhesive would be the best to use? Not sure what tiles are going down yet.

mind to cut them from the top as that parts hidden from view and wont be seen if any raggedy ass cutting is done by you lol, nice clean edge down to tiles
if ceramic then prime floor using sbr the standard rapid set, if porcies or stones then prime floor, seal tiles, flexi 1 or 2 part rapid set dependant on choice.

Re: tiling kitchen floor
If the floors in good level condition, then I always give it a good scrub with sugar soap, rinsing well, then prime it with an acrylic primer following manufacturers guidelines, then a rapidset cement based adhesive "with porclebond" if using Porcelain tiles, removing all kickboards and white goods.

Once you know what tiles they want fitting then we can say the best adhesive to use.

Re: tiling kitchen floor
I always give concrete floors a coat of sealer, usually sbr diluted 1:3 (sbr:water) to seal any dust. I use a single part flexible adhesive

Re: tiling kitchen floor
Hi,
If there are any door frames to go around ie into utility room or whatever or its an extension to the original floor area at a door frame point check the levels either side of the frame...the door width may be level where you walk.... but around the frame may have a rise or fall......I have found on many occasions there are different levels here..more than can be accomodated with a little more or less adhesive...and the tile/s will either stick up at a bad angle or have fresh air underneath on other side. Rectified edge tiles (ie trav / porc) will highlight this .
