Re: letting agents, estate agents
I do quite a bit of work for a letting agency, it might help that I know the M.D. but having said that he wont allow second rate work because the customer will pay twice and you get a bad name. Go and see them in person and tell them what you do, they are always looking for good tradesman/ladies that are effecient, effficeenient, I cant spell efficient so lets settle for very good.
Just go into the office, you will get a better reception. (office/reception, I am so quick)

Don't do it myself but agree with Dom that face to face is better than letters.

Re: letting agents, estate agents
Hi mate,
The main thing they look for at first is that you have liability insurance, they always ask for a copy. They will give you a small job to start with and they base your price, reponse time and quality of job etc on whether or not they will use you again.
I would send them a letter introducing your business, give short description of what services you offer and include a link to you website etc. After sending give them a call to ask that they recieved your letter or even email them and ask.
If you call beforehand you could get a name of whoever deals with registered contractors.
Put some details on your website saying that you work offer services to estate agents and property factors etc.
