Default Toilet / Semi Ped Sink / Porcelain Tiles

    Chaps,

Wonder if you could help clarify a couple of questions :

    - Do I need to, or is it advisable, to seal porcelain tiles (Not polished) ?

    - About to mount a semi ped sink onto the tiles, and seen the tip to use silicon sealant between the tiles and sink. Should I put on a bead and let it go off, or just fit the sink with the silicon wet ?? (Just conscious as I tighten it may compress down to nothing)

    - Similarly, I am about to mount the toilet, and was going to silicon the base... should I pre-bead, fit wet, or just go around the base after it's in place. (Its a back to the wall, no access type toilet) ?

All on porc tiles BTW.... Wow, this has been a steep learning curve

    Cheers,

    Paul.

Hiya - Will do the bead after mounting, but it was suggested to use silicon as a gasget and for added adhesion, between the sink and tiles... Or do you not think this is necessary ?

    Ta,

    Paul

Are the tiles glazed or unglazed

Get an offcut of one of your tiles and make a mark on it with a dry whiteboard marker pen. Leave to dry for 10mins or so, then try and rub off. If it comes off ok, it doesn't need sealing, and vice versa....
