Default plasterers-the vain of my life!!!

god where do i start! how come they carnt seem to plaster around a window with out making it twist. i spent half an hour smashing plaster and plasterboard of the wall so my tiles would meet up. then again around the door. ended up having my top 3 rows bowing out off the wall just so it was smooth. REALLY gets up my nose that i have to lower my standard of work because other tradesmen dont have the technical knowladge to get a wall straight. even more annoying when i found out they were on £200 a day!! TAKE SOME PRIDE IN YOUR WORK!!

I did a kitchen splashy today, 200 x 100 brickbond. Customer was chatting and watching me (nice guy tho'). He says " why are you putting so much adhesive on the tiles?". I explained that his walls were absolutely **** and then put a flat edge againsgt them to demonstrate the problem. "Oh" he says, "the plasterer charged me £300 to sort them out". Unbelievable, I'd only charged a day to do the tiling and ended up sorting the plasterers mess prior to doing the tiling .

"Ask for your money back, I've knocked 50% of his skim coat on to the floor so that I can get a half decent finish" I says.

As already mentioned, there are some good tradespeople and there are some proper shocking tradespeople!

i just finished a job and the plasterers had dry lined 2 walls, nice you think, but one wall was the wall where the door was and these guys just dry lined over previous wall which made wall level with arcitrave. Explained to customer and said its ok, he'll get his joiner to put new ones on after i've tiled. OK i said but what were the plasterers doing?? I also went to a job where the plasterers had re boarded a whole kitchen with 9mm plaster and not removed any sockets! just cut round the sockets and skimed, really bad! , she was devo! I couldn't beleive it

This works both ways, I dry lined a bathroom for a tiler and everything was spot on and we was getting work from same shop. Did'nt even have that decency to even thank me
