Fitting Mosaic Tiles
I am about to fit mosaic wall tiles for the first time. I have heard some horror stories and wonder if anyone can offer me some advice on how to do the job successfully?
It is only a small job so I aim to complete it in a day, would anyone recommend using the mixed tubs of grout and adhesive????

Re: Fitting Mosaic Tiles
Unless you use a fast set adhesive you wont get it done in 1 day.
What type of mosaic is it glass/porcelain/stone etc and what area are you tiling kitchen/bathroom.
Are the walls good?

Re: Fitting Mosaic Tiles
use rapid-set or mosaic fix, touch them as little as you can with your fingers, pat them flush with your grout float

Re: Fitting Mosaic Tiles
it really is all in the preparation with mosaic even more so than normal wall and floor tiling as if you have walls or floors that are anything less than perfect it is really unforgiving

Re: Fitting Mosaic Tiles
only advice i can give is to make sure that he walls are spot on as mosiacs are very unforgiving and will show the lumps and bumps.

Re: Fitting Mosaic Tiles
if the mosaics are paper backed you will only get one chance in fitting them as they will just fall apart if trying to remove again. as said pat on with a grout float. using spacers some time are no help as they will just want to collapse on them selves. i find a packet of panel pins or similar come in handy just to take the weight of the sheets just tap a couple in at the top of a sheet. also dont try to cut paper back mosaics with a wet cutter as they just fall aprt, the best way if the tiles allow is to use a splitter cutter with a deep rubber spacer attatched and split them individually.
