(Poll coming soon) What brand silicone do you use the most?

Hi,

Member "larmar" asked me to make a poll to find out what the most used silicone brand is. We've never done this and I don't know what options to put in the poll so I thought I'd ask here first so you can all reply with some makes for me, list as many as you can, and if you do list a few let us know your favorite as 'larmar' is looking out for opinions on it.

Once I have a dozen or so choices I'll make a poll and get you lot to vote on them.

I have been using ultra colour plus grouts a lot lately, so have been using the Mapesil silicones( 26 colours ) and it's great stuff and virtually no smell.

think that's the same as I usually use too Oli, although my local supplier now stocks Ultra, and it seems nice to use, not as many air bubbles in as DC

BAL at the moment. I find the standard, cheaper BAL Silicone is much easier to work with than the Microseal stuff.

I also find it annoying that they don't call the grout and silicone the same colour name, e.g. you buy ivory grout but there's no ivory silicone. Apparently champagne is the nearest.

Another nice thing about mapei products, you buy Jasmine grout and then jasmine silicone!

For bathrooms or sanitry applications Dow Corning 785...Mapei is good stuff but the Dow 785 has a proven record for staying white

Mapei is a water based sealant hence no solvent smell

Dow corning 785 all the way used to use forever white. Dow corning is better IMO.
