Am I right in saying that "Gaya" is the manufacturer name and Casentino is the colour? If so, they come from a supplier called Decorum. We deal with Decorum so could get them for you.

From looking on my system, I can find a tile called Tuscany versillia/casentino mix mosaic. Which I think is made by Gaya. Don't know if that is any help, or if I am way off

    Hi Matt

Many thanks for looking into this for me, It sounds like it might be the same tile, 'Gaya' is the make and all I know of the name is Casentino which may well be the colour, I have removed a very poorly lnstalled shower enclosure from a bathroom that is tiled with this tile, the customer wants to keep the rest of the bathroom as is and just retile the enclosure, I ordered 8sqm from a local tile shop leaving a £200 deposit they promised me delivery within 2 weeks, that was 5 weeks ago so 3 weeks overdue and they are still unsure if the tiles have been shipped, you can understand my frustration, fortunately my client is very understanding but I would like to source these elsewhere if possible.

The tiles are 50x50mm mosaics on 300x300 sheets, yes they are all various shades of one colour and they have a slight texture to them. I could send you a sample of the tiles removed if you think you could source these. If so what sort of lead time do you think it would be.

    Many Thanks
    Gary

Gary, they sound like the same mosaic. But without seeing them, I couldn't say 100 %. I have checked our stock list for the distributor and they are currently showing that the mosaic is out of stock. Which may be the reason the tile shop near you is having problems. The earliest I can speak to the supplier is Monday, to find out when they will be back in stock. Do you have a Tile Giant near by?

I am Brighton based so my nearest TG is Chicester or Croydon I think. Both an hours drive away so not really that local , I know my customer would be willing to make a trip to the store if they could give a delivery date. To maybe assist in any enquiries the local tile shop has mentioned that the manufacturer is closed in August, but they only told me this last week after the tiles were 2 weeks overdue. I may have sought another source if they had told me that from the outset.

Not gonna name and shame but I don't use this store as numerous customers of mine have had similar problems.

    Gary

please let me know if you think you can source them and I will get a sample to the nearest shop to confirm a match asap.

Some factories do close in Aug/Sep so it does make it difficult. I will find out on Monday the due date for the mosaic it might be. If you can get a sample to me, that would be great. I work in the same building that our head office is based at, so I can speak to one of the buyers about sourcing it. Let me know what you would like me to do. If you want to speak to me, the phone number for my shop is 01782 597748 or you can PM me your contact info and I can call you. I am off tomorrow and Monday, but will speak to the supplier from home.

I spoke to the distributor this morning and they have told me that the mosaic will not be in for atleast 4 weeks. More likely 6 - 8 weeks.

They explained that there was an error with their last container load and that mosaic wasn't on it when it should of been. The factory is closed at the moment, when it re-opens, the mosaic will be shipped over to the UK.

This maybe why your tile supplier keeps delaying, but they should of told you this from day one instead of keep saying next week etc.

I am not sure when the factory re-opens. My guess would be Early Sept. Then they have to be shipped from Italy (I think it is Italy) by boat. Which can take 2 - 4 weeks.

I can't give a date as to when we would recieve them as I do not know and I don't want to give you false hope.
