Default fire place to tile - how best?

    Hello,

there is a fireplace in a kitchen im tiling. just wondered for opinions which is best way to tile it.

the wall is 4m long, with fireplace in middle which obviously has a reveal each side of it,.

do you tile the face of the fireplace and the two faces each side of it first then the two reveals or do reveals first then the faces. or start from left hand side of wall and continue to the right.

just wondering which looks the best where the internal of the reveals/and the faces each side of the fire place meet.

    thanks

sorry just re-read my badly explained post.

im tiling 3 tiles high ontop of worktops. theres a fireberth in the kitchen. the whole wall itself is just like a wall you would get in the lounge of an old victorian terraced house.

so the wall is say 3m wide. the fireberth face is 1m wide and the rest of the wall either sides of the fireberth face are both 1m each. the sides are obviously set back and join the fireberth face with a reveal each.

so its. left face , left reveal, fireberth face, right reveal, right face .

so im thinking does it look better to tile the 3 faces first - left face of the fireberth and the fireberth face and then the right face of the fire berth.. so you have tiled all of the wall which is facing you... THEN tile the reveals so the reveal tiles cover the edges of the facing tiles. OR the other other way round.

When you look at the wall you want an equal cut on both edges of the Chimney face ie aesthethically this has to be centred on the wall.
Depending on the type of tile you are using you can follow the pattern/size of tile around the reveals to the 2 recessed areas where you should again follow the rest of the pattern/size of tile around.
