Something like that best to lay the bottom row of tiles then just put the diamonds wherever you want them and tile around them?

The best way is to lay them out on the floor and pre-cut them, including the surrounding tiles.

you could also cut a cardboard cut out the desired diamond size ... lay tiles out on the floor and lay cut out on top draw around ...fix tiles then inset diamond... perfect fit every time....

How would you get around the laying out on the floor plan though if you had no space to do that.
Any other tips in missing, other than obviously a lot of measuring out.

Tile the wall first.. then use cardboard template to mark diamond on the wall ..then remove tiles one at a time and cut .....clean out adhesive and inset diamond......simple as that ..lol lol.....

Well, you don't need to lay them out then and there infront of where you going to set them. The last job I had diamonds to put on each 3 walls I took a couple of boxs of tiles home with me and cut them up at home, then was just like laying in kit form the next day. saves ages.
