    Default Porcelain tiles with marks/stains

    Hi all,
We have laid beige porcelain tiles from B&Q 40X40cm on my bathroom floor
with Hardiebacker boards under and beige grout and work out perfect but I have noticed that the Porcelain tiles which are glazed/polished have some light dark stains which look like dirt and they were not there when purchased.
We have tried to clean them with Cif or Jif and a sponge but it seems that the stains are impregnated into the tiles and does not come off and looks like tiles are dirty but that is one about 10 precent of the tiles only, probably the ones that are in the centre of room and subject to dirty hands when plumbing.
Can someone tell me why this happens and how to clean the tiles ?
    Regards,

    David

If you manage to get the stains out with the stuff Dave rcomends then be sure to seal them first thing or you will end up with more stains . the tiles may look glazed but are probably just polished ,

No, I did not seal them as they seemed glazed and were top range at B&Q but I should have as they seem to absorb the dirt from probably the grout or dirty water from plumbing.
So, I will try the product mentioned in your replies and seal the tiles after.
How do you apply the seal?
We had also Granite tiles from B&Q laid on floor, do i also need to seal those?
    Thanks,
Will keep you posted on the result!

I've been burned by these porcelain tiles before, so we often seal them no matter what the mfr says.

ring round your local tile shops and ask who stocks lithofin or give them a ring or email Lithofin UK Website :: 01962 732126 - Stockists/Technical Support
