priming waterproof ply
i was phoning around for prices for ply and was speaking to the the guy and he said that by buying waterproof ply rather than standard ply i wouldn't need to prime it before tiling. is this right?
also if i do still have to prime it should i use acrylic primer rather than pva? i will be using granfix products for everything.

Re: priming waterproof ply
you dont prime timber to waterproof it....it is primed for purpose of getting a good key with the adhesive....bal floor adhesives dont normally require a primer as it is built into the powder...but i always prime just to make sure there is nothing wrong with being over cautious....

Re: priming waterproof ply
Plywood should be sealed on the lower faces and edges to prevent distortion from moisture. Should be using WBP exterior grade ply anyhow. (BS5385 part 3)
Check with manufacturer regarding priming the face. Dunlop Set Fast Plus doesn't require the face of the ply priming.
