Discuss 990mm tiles in the Tiling Forum at TilersForums; I've got about 8m2 of 990mm by 990mm porcelain tiles to fit, any advice on the best way to cut them, can you hire a cutter to cut them, thanks....

    Default 990mm tiles

    I've got about 8m2 of 990mm by 990mm porcelain tiles to fit, any advice on the best way to cut them, can you hire a cutter to cut them, thanks.

    Some tile shops have them 'out the back' to lend out, ask about. Or if you are near Kendal Doug might hire his out, got a pic Doug?

    no, already skimmed and already tiled possibly needs reboarding after removing old tiles any suggestions

    12mm plasterboards or hardi backer boards should be sufficient what do you think

    How heavy are they,
    I saw some about that size abroad but not over here yet, any pics ?

    Doug - you sure its not a TS40 with a funny lense on the camera???

    With a 6mm bed and a 10mm tile that would take you up to 32kg which is the max for plasterboard

    i'd strip off board and tiles and replace with 12mm wedi board. carries more weight.
