Discuss Threshold Bars in the Tiling Forum at TilersForums; Hi all i've got 3 bathrooms to tile upto carpet coming up...need some smart threshold bars to go from tile to carpet...I reckon once i've got the hardibackers down (6mm) ...

    Default Threshold Bars

    Hi all i've got 3 bathrooms to tile upto carpet coming up...need some smart threshold bars to go from tile to carpet...I reckon once i've got the hardibackers down (6mm) adhesive approx (6mm) and tile (10mm) I could be looking at 16mm step up into room. What would you recommend? any links?

    Is there a no threshold option? I've seen posts about carpet z bars would these be suitable in this situation?

    I have used the Homelux ones from CTD, or the Tileasy "transition strips" to take out height discrepencies. Have a chat with your local tile shop .

    another option is a quarter round piece of wood available from builders merchants or diy stores.Just another option for you.

    Im with the chaps above, homelux Z style, good for various heights and come in chrome or gold effect. Can cut them to size, reminds me of the time i cut it too short. Moral of that story: measure twice, cut once!

    Didnt get round to contacting homelux today...no info in the site on what the min/max height difference is to use this bar? does the carpet have to be stretched with a kicker to use this?
