Hi Guy's

Doing a kitchen splash back on the diamond with 100x100 white ceramics would i just start the bottom row a half tile? and is there anything i have to look out for ? This is a 4.5 m2 no windows 2 sockets also grouting about 5 m2 of tile that have just been done by another tiler he is in hospital for a long time also about 2.5 m2 of skirting how much would you charge for this i have quoted $600 about £250 your money no mats.

If you are starting off with half a tile from the work-surface then make sure you are starting at the lowest point so that you are nipping the tiles on the higher point to keep the setout level else starting off at the higher end of the worktop would cause you to have a gap at the lowest to stay level or you'd follow the drop/fall and wouldn't be level.

Not too sure on charges. If it will take you a day then it sounds like you're on a fair wage charging what you quoted so i'd stick with that.

I'm sure the others will give their view in a bit, most are at work at the moment.

most kitchen fitters havnt got a level but you must to run your tiles with the worktop, full tile or half diamond . If the work top is out lose it in the joints it wont notice when its grouted. But it takes time to master.

If another tiler has already started the job then you might have to carry on from where he left off to continue the pattern.. if area's dont meet then tile to work top and follow pattern round any corners...
