Cutting Curves With A Score Cutter
I met Mark from Rubi who came to tell us alittle about Rubi and he also brought a Training DVD. I have just watched the DVD and it shows how to cut a curve with a Rubi TS/TX etc.
I was pretty impressed at how it was done and how easy it looked (I'm sure it's not as easy as it looked)
Has anyone tried this? Or does anyone do this on a regular basis?

Re: Cutting Curves With A Score Cutter
It works well for curves, it's not that difficult just take it easy when scoring. You could use a rubi cutter put into a old file handle and score carefully with that.

I thought about that. It is the breaking that I can imagine is alittle more difficult. Too much pressure and your tile is broken

Re: Cutting Curves With A Score Cutter
On quite a big curve it's not to bad, small curves which deviate then a few wet cuts upto the scored line helps when snapping the tile

Re: Cutting Curves With A Score Cutter
I have at a last resort used a good quality glass cutter for freehand curves on ceramic tiles. It got me out of a hole..

Works a treat once you get the hang of it

Re: Cutting Curves With A Score Cutter
I've tried it a few times, and have had limited success. I find it really hard to get good control with the scribe, and usually seem to stray off my line. Tried it on Porcelain recently, and gave up. Went back to piano cutting and breaking; not a neat line, but good enough to be hidden by the silicone anyway.

Re: Cutting Curves With A Score Cutter
Put some weight onto the scribe with a straight arm and do it slowly, practice makes perfect. Just keep trying on some scrap pieces, you will get the hang of it. You could even try it on the dry cutter, you will be able to put a good score on the tile but move the tile slowly

Just cut slots up to the scored line about 10mm apart and snap them off one at a time..... leaves a perfect curve.
