Seal before and after grouting.

Price the job as you would for other natural stone.

make sure theyre REALLY clean before sealing. Its bad news once that grout haze gets sealed on!
If theyre different thicknesses, then lay the thickest one first and bed the rest up to match. Its easier to bed up than to dig down!

I use a granite/marble mix with granite tiles...ot a white thinset with some added sand for body. Set with a large noth trowel...1/2x1/2 notched. And coat the backs of the tiles.

You guys seal polished granite? Why?

who said it was polished?
and incidently id still seal it anyway if it was.
The importance of the sealing really depends on the colour of the granite.
A blue/grey granite REALLY needs to be sealed as it will show every mark.

whether it is a polished finish or mat , you should seal because if anything acidic is spilt on to tiles then it will stain....polished or not..........( red wine is a killer ).....dave..
