Default glass tiles!!

Hi all, just been to drop some ply off at a job i start tomo. Its a kitchen floor and splashback, thing is when i quoted job customer didn't have tiles. The tiles she has got for splashback are about 400mm x 150mm one is ceramic but the other is glass! I've never done a glass job before, they have a black back which is really lumpy (quite hard to explain). Whats the best adhesive to use? I was thinking BAL Mosaic fix? or i'd rather use something cheaper if available. Am i right thinking i have to back skim the tiles? Do i also have to do all my cuts on the wet cutter with glass blade? Whats glass like to cut? Any advice welcome

I've used hand made glass tiles before, they were all lumpy on the back. I cut them with my wet cutter and used a rapid setting single part flexi adhesive, and I back buttered them too. Bleeding nightmare job

You need to determine if they are colour bonded or painted backs..

A little slip in the tile box.....or ring manufacture and ask what they recommend for fixing..

Colour bonded , you can use a highly flexible S2 adhesive and painted you will need to use a mirror mate type adhesive as tile adhesive will come through.

i know the tiles your talking about i think,do they look bumpyish from the front on the colour as well?

anyway check you have a blade that cuts glass,i used my marcrist blade and it cuts glass no probs,,wear goggles always i also have a bucket of water for dipping my hands in as the shards get everywhere.

i use mosaic fix or pci nanolight and trowel the wall direct and use a the flat side of trowel to smooth off addy so ribbed shadows dont show through, most glass iv fixed has a coloured backing sheet so beware of marking on this with your pencil as in the light the pencil mark will show through

i charge more for glass fixing as its slightly more time consuming,,hope this is of help to you

mirror mate type adhesive? is mirror mate the make? sorry if it seems a stupid question. Can you get that stuff at a regular tile shop? The stuff on the back of the tile seems quite thick and uneven like blobs of paint are on it.

Mirror mate is a sensitive adhesive for backings suspect to damage from regular adhesives like tile adhesive or silicone...mirror mate is the name and comes in a tube...

plz ring the tech line before trying to fix...it's best to ask before it costs you pennies..
