have you though about using a grinder cup wheel for the surface prep ? it will be cheaper than hiring a compressor and sand blasting kit and you can use it on other jobs in the future

I dont want to come across as being rude matey but have you ever tiled a pool before? is it just paint or a protective coating specifically for the pool? You really need to check on that first before you go at it with a SAND BLASTER, that dust will go everywhere, filters,inlets/outlets, grids, your ears and even into your undies! ardex do a fantastic swimming pool adheshive, its called 5001 i think, give them a call before you take that blaster anywhere, you could end up taking off a lot more than "paint" .

P.S. make sure your public liability insurance is up to date, £5 mill minimum, goodluck

dear diamond yes in 30+ years about 2000 pools mainly mosaic ,we already prept pool hall and pool for blasting taping up inlets'skimmers'drains' vacume point; ive paid people to do this in the past and hired the kit and done it myself the paint is a standard water based pool paint so should be no probs. I render /screed also so i can patch up if i need to. I d like to know wot the average tiler knows about pool finishing so when i get time ill ask a few questions on line anyway must pack my van for ireland tommorow

That is a lot of pools matey, in fact one every 5 and a half days for 30 years solid, I have only worked on about 12 over the last 20 years, 4 of which were public authority work, we went like the clappers but there is no way we could do them that fast, well done anyway, you should let us in on your secret for speed
