Help! I'm looking to tile my en-suit...
Hi there can anyone help? I'm looking to tile the en-suit. i was origionall going to go for a grey slate floor and white gloss wall tiles with mosaic tiles following the shower up the wall and behind the sink. Someone has said not to go for white gloss. I want a modern look and love grey slate but think the whole bathroom in grey will be too dark as there is no window.
Can anyone advise on a good modern look please?

OK HAVE A LOOK AT THIS PICTURE OF A BATHROOM DONE IN A GREY TILE

QUESTION: Does the picture appear to be of a modern contemporary bathroom. Or does it look like a commercial prison cell?
There is no right or wrong. If you like it then great.
Contemporary
The trend for contemporary rooms follows these basic rules:
1) The large surface areas (walls and floors) should contain "natural" or "neutral" colours that are found in nature. Like stone, mud, tree bark.
2) Avoid primary colours like yellow, blue, red.
3) Avoid detail. Do not put in borders, two tone walls, decor tiles.
4) Furniture for bathrooms should ALWAYS be white. Avoid avacado!
5) Fittings should either be chrome, stainless.
6) Use of glass is acceptable. But not for sinks as they get grubby.
7) Try to tile floor to ceiling. Take out skirting board.
If you need inspirations for contemporary tiles then look at pictures of the finished projects at this site.
Room design is a personal choice but if you follow the rules above and match it to the look and feel of the pictures I suggest then you wont go too far wrong.
