| Career change wanted- also help and advice | | I desperately want a career change from teaching Post 16 students with Autism and have enrolled on a tiling course in the North East. Have done a few DIY jobs for family and friends whom all have been very happy and gives me more satisfaction than being told off by management every other day. I want to get into providing a full service of bathroom/kitchen fitting and any advice and help, critical or otherwise would be greatly appreciated. I have also put a few snaps for everyone to criticise!!!! | | |

| Re: Career change wanted- also help and advice | | They all seem pretty damn good to me. The last one appears to have some really thin cuts to the left, I gather that is some kind of door to somewhere and they are not really cuts as they look very damn thin, maybe moving to the left an inch or so would have made that left hand side not look like a thin cut? Maybe i'm just picking because it's good work and there's not much to criticise. Well done. | Dan |

| Re: Career change wanted- also help and advice | | Cheers Admin, Them thin cuts are actually full tiles- it was originally biult to house a shower unit but storage for baby baggage was more important so it's shelved inside and 2 doors on the front to match the units. | | |

I was a Teacher too, 14-19 curriculum in Secondary Schools in Birmingham. I specialised in Behaviour, so I know exactly what your going through. My job was getting me down, big time, for all the same reasons as you no doubt.
I made a decision to go for Tiling. I had no idea what to do, but stuck to my plans. I did my course at Chase Tiling Academy in Cannock, Staffs. Read my post in the 'Courses' forum about that one.
I have met some great people and true mates, not like the back stabbing career grabbers at school, and have done some quality work since finishing the course.
I haven't looked back since mate..... | | |
