Big hole in floor in the
Tiling Forum at TilersForums;
Hey guys, doing a kitchen floor and was taken off old tile and the floor came loose along the wall which is covering radiator pipes.
Would it be ok to ... -

Big hole in floor
Hey guys, doing a kitchen floor and was taken off old tile and the floor came loose along the wall which is covering radiator pipes.
Would it be ok to fill it up with adhesive?
Its bout 6 inches wide and nearly metre long

I had a small job re-tiling a concrete kitchen floor that plumber had smashed up to get at pipes. I just got myself some postcrete from wickes, costs next to nothing and dries seriously fast....worked a treat

Its bout 4 inches deep.
The radiator pipes are showing.
Would they need covered with some kind of protection???

I've used anything from insulation tape to bits of overflow pipe!

thankyou. am just doing my first job and i have all the old tiles up and there was loose cement so i chip it all out. just taken my time to make sure i do the job right. the floor looks level enough so i should be starting soon.

I normally keep a roll of duct (or is it Duck?) tape in my van for situations like that. I'd fill the hole with rapid set flexible adheive

thanks guys. one last question b4 i start tomorrow. i have to use tiles for skirting as was wondering do i just set the skirt tile on top of floor tile?? or a gap??

I believe the right tape to use is Delvo tape - apparently it is quite messy to work with
