    Default Where tile meets carpet on stairs

    hello all,

    Any tips on what's the best way to have stone tiles meet a carpeted and curved bottom step. Cheers

    Shape the tile into the bottom riser leaving about a 6-7 mm gap. Then when carpet is fitted it can be grippered around the base of the riser and the carpet tucked into the gap. If that makes sense.

    thanks for the reply.

    The carpet is already fitted. just wondered if I needed to fill the space between tile edge and carpet...(grout?) or just put the tile right up against the carpet.

    As the carpet has pile, you could cut you tiles slightly oversize & press it into the carpet thus giving the finished effect without grouting/siliconing which would effect the carpet anyway
    If your in control... Your not going fast enough
