plastering for tiling
im just thinking, if i was to do a course in plastering and wasnt that good at it, it wouldnt really matter that i didnt have a finish good enough to paint onto as the tiles would be covering said wall !!!!

Re: plastering for tiling
I do the odd bit of plastering and although I can get a good finish in terms of 'smoothness' actually making walls flat enough for tiling is a whole different story!! If the walls are good then fine but if they're running all over the place then I board it or get a pro plasterer in!!!
Good luck tho as you say it's a useful skill to have - I've saved myself a fortune by gradually plastering my own house... don't think I'll be making a living from it though!!!!

If it gives you the skill to prep your own walls for tiling then go for it..

Re: plastering for tiling
I would still want to get a half decent finish even when tiling over the plaster but do a course and see how get on. Nett seems to have good short plastering course, good luck

Re: plastering for tiling
Done a bit of plastering here and there............I can get it flat and tile-able........but defo not good enough to leave for painting.
I have toyed with the idea of doing a course.....but its finding one local, having the time & money
