Default Tiling floor after the walls

Could anyone offer me some advice on setting out some floor tiles. If I tile the walls first and leave a 4mm gap around the perimeter of the room I can just fit 4 tiles across the room ( 450 x 450 each ) with a 3mm grout line as 4mm seems to look too big. Do you think that would look wrong as I thought most tilers would tile on top of the floor making a neater job. Also the tiles are porcelain like an imitation travertine pattern, do they need sealing or anything. I have noticed that a few slight scratches on closer inspection. Any advice appreciated.

I think i undersetand what your saying but would sugest trying to lay it dry to get a proper idea of what it will look like , if ti looks right it proberly is. Wht substrate are you tiling onto? where are the tiles from? it should say on the tiles if they need sealing and may have a wax film that will need removing first. Check out thil post i think it might help B&Q polished black "porcelain"
