    Default Trim problem

I know this question may seem daft to all the professional tilers out there but I am going to start tiling my bathroom with 300*600 ceramic tiles (landscape)and the shower enclosure which is set in an alcove is being fully tiled.Where the shower area finishes there is an outside corner and this goes onto the bath wall where i am only tiling approx 1 tile high above top of bath level .What is the best type of trim and way to fit it to get the best look at that corner(shower side floor to ceiling-bath side floor to i tile above bath level.) I have enclosed a picture which might help with the description. Thanks.

    Hi Mike.

Are you going to be tiling along the back of the bath up to the shower wall to meet the tiles coming from the cubicle ? On another note, in my opinion, your going to need 2 more vertical studs in that right hand wall, I would measure centre and come 150mm either side to give yourself 300mm fixing centre with 200mm to the outside and corner studs.

yes the shower will be fully tiled floor to ceiling when i've finshed building the frame on the rhs which will house the control valve etc, issue mainly with above and around bath where it meats the corner with shower enclosure as only going about 1 tile above bath edge. Normal trim for shower tiles edge will stick out past the corner above where the bath tiles finish unless there is a way around this.

That was going to be my next suggestion, don't tile all the way to the edge of the tray, use the uprights of the screen to form the edge and tile to the inside of this.

    Hi,
if you're sitting your shower screen 3 inches inside the alcove then you could follow your tile line from the bath around the corner to meet the shower screen. That way you can put a vertical trim on the corner and horizontal trim around top tile too (with a 45 degree cut on the corner trims.
As Alan P has said it looks like you will need some more stud work on your new wall (ideal for fixing your shower control valves.
    Good luck

ok ill try and explain shower wall trim goes hard to plaster corner (above bath tile line) when you meet bath tile line you step out thickness of trim to meet trim on top of bath tile line (45 45 ) at this point you will need to do a three way corner posted earlier about 2 weeks back( look for three way trim in search ) can be fiddley but worth it in the end hope this helps tiles above bath line in shower will need to be cut shorter than ones below
