Cool Floor Tiles to Wall or Wall Tiles to Floor

I'm just in the process of tiling my bathroom, floor and walls. I have a question as to what is the best way to meet the floor and wall tiles. Should I tile to the floor and lay the floor tiles up to them or should I lay the floor tiles to the wall and bring the wall tiles down to meet the floor tiles?

    Many Thanks

I normally tile the walls first leaving the bottom row for last, then tile the floor second to avoid dropping \ accidents onto a newly tiled floor while tiling the walls, tile the floor upto a couple of mm from where the bottom row of wall tiles will end up being, then insert the last row of wall tiles, so it leaves like a diagonal gap of 2 to 3 mm, which is then my expansion silicone joint.

Oh and welcome to the forums.

Its entirely up to you which way you do it, just remember that where the wall tiles meet the floor tiles use silicone and not grout as it will crack and look awful.

I personally prefer to do walls first.

As per Fekin, i do the walls, leaving the bottom row. Then tile the floor and do my bottom row of cuts onto the floor.
I do this because you generally look down and the floor cuts are hidden as opposed to lying on the floor and seeing the wall tile cuts. Personal preference though, I just prefer it that way, dont like a grout line around the floor cuts. Same as I always fremove skirting before tiling in hallways etc

I like to tile the walls first too, and leave the bottom row off. then do floor. then tile down to floor tiles. I just think it gives a nicer finish.

I do the same as Fekin, Davy and Eddie, but there is no right or wrong way. As Enduro says, finish with silicone not grout as it cracks!
