    Default Floor leveling

    Hi,

I had a call to quote a porch, there is a slight lift just under the front door ledge. The porch is very small, I was just wondering if I could get away with buttering the tiles to level the floor that way. The porch is 55cm x 43cm.

    Thanks for your help

Hi, it all depends on what addy you use and whether you can build it up thick enough to achieve your levels, if not a bag of self level latex will do trick nicely

You're right, that is a small porch, you get tiles that big!! Shouldn't be a problem using addy on that small area

what size are the tiles? if they're mosaics it may be best to self level, if large format, should be okay with a solid bed adhesive

    Hi,

I have had a look today, I did suggest small tiles, a similar size for a wall, as any bigger it will look silly, I think I'll give it ago by just using the adhesive!

    Thanks guys

I might be tempted to use one biggish tile and do a geometric shape with dummy cuts on my wet cutter

    Hi,

Just been to customer's, the actual size is 35inces x 43 inches! Not cm's.
So I've got porcelain 150mm x 150mm. I will be using a topps tiles adhesive and separate grout. So i'll butter back the tiles? It's just a slight lift, so if I do that area first and make sure the remainder are level. It sounds easy!!!!

BAL PTB is your best bet if the floor is uneven
