Shower tiling
I've started to create a shower surround in the corner of a bedroom. Two of the existing walls are block and plastered. I have constructed the third wall from timber stud and ordinary plasterboard. Having read other comments I am worried that I may have to rip out the plasterboard and replace with a more water resistant board. Am I going to be OK using the standard plasterboard and if so how should I prepare it ?

Re: Shower tiling
I have read about shower tanking kits. Now I've put the plaster board up I'm just wondering if this would save me the trouble of ripping the piece down. ?

Re: Shower tiling
Use a tanking membrane and it will be fine....
Contact wetdecs and he sells a shower kit...
with all the membrane and tapes...easy to apply and will make it water tight..

Re: Shower tiling
If you tank it you will not need to replace the plasterboard.
