Just had a phone call to go and price up tiling onto outside brickwork. The bit she wants tiled is along the bottom of her hoouse. Is it ok to tile onto brickwork? And if so what adhesive would you recommend?
thanks kevin

well thats a weird one tiling side of a house i would have thought it would have to be rendered with sand and cement first to tile onto
it only maybe 3 or 4 bricks high from the ground
still id advise you render it beforehand i could be wrong but i can imagine there will be abit of movement and to be honest if you before you start tiling then you will have a nice substrate to tile onto

It's not Jack & Vera's is it????
Could be a chip shop though.
I tiled one years ago from DPC to the underside of the window. I primed the walls and used Weber set rapid plus. But that was with small porus ceramics. You need to check what tile she requires so as to use the correct adhesvie

yes you can but take care not to bridge the dpc
i cant remember the name but ardex do a water/frost poof cement based addy which sticks well
I know nothing I havent learnt

i would personally have it rendered and then id paint it ,but you could render and then tile.

bricks are fine to tile on they are the same as tiles the probs you may get if water gets in frost damage but as peps say mind the damp course don't bridge it Pete some i have just tiled but the other way round lol
