Default Need some advice on Travertine

Hi Guys,

Starting a job next Tuesday with chiseled edge Travertine (4 set) and would be grateful for any advice/tips on:-

How best to seal ?(before laying or just prior to grouting)

wet cut okay?

Any other

Going to use flexible adhesive(white) and flex grout...

Cheers

best to seal twice before grouting and once after, use a small radiator type roller with sponge head, or a paint brush ( clean one ). all cuts will have to be with wet cutter.
good luck with job and post pics

If it is possible to seal (even if only once) before fixing the tiles then I would recommend it, don't worry if you can't just do as Dave says, but if you don't seal before fixing make sure to remove any excess adhesive quicky and keep the tiles very clean. Best of luck.

When I set travertine....I keep a "tavy tile puck" and check lippage constantly....making sure the tiles are nice and flat and none stick up. I like to use a 1/4 x 3/8 trowel and
coat the back of the tiles with the flat side to get a good bond. Since travertine is prone to cracking, a 100% bond is desirable.
