Re: grout removal best tool?
I have the fein too, very good piece of kit.blades def are expensive,i think instead of buying a blade or two you'd be better buy the pack again at 60-60 quid it makes good sense as some of the blades are £30 each !!!

Re: grout removal best tool?
when you've used your hardibacker scoring tool to scratch out the grout you can use ''astonish'' rubbing paste to remove the metal marks where you slip, it also take's marks off of pocelain fab stuff

Re: grout removal best tool?
Bosch 1 for me,fein 1 was ok but had a problem with it locking up after about 6mths,maybe just a dodgy 1 but its still in back of van(somewhere!)I took it back to shop to get it repaired and they just looked at me funny and said they would get some1 to ring me about it.That was about 4-5 months ago

Re: grout removal best tool?
fein for me, handy for removing grout but i shy away from those jobs if poss. Only use it for removing grout around chipped or broken tiles etc.
A brilliant tool for cutting the bottom of architraves for a neat job at doorways. Id be lost without it. Money well spent. I can go through one wood E cut blade if im doing a new build with hardwood trim though. Mind you ive a job priced well enough to afford the replacements.
How you getting on anyway Garretride?? Things ticking over?

Re: grout removal best tool?
Next door purchased a Fein a while back - he is into woodworking and he reckons its one of the best bits of kit he owns (behind his table saw which comes in at number one pop pickers). Looks like a real jack of all trades.
I think you will be using it all over the house and not just on your tiling work. Its the next thing I will be buying especially if the missus has her way and we move to another wreck of a house soon.

hss hire the fein machines so you could try before you buy,i have bought the bigger fein super cut in 2007 and its been worth its weight in gold, once you have one you will wonder how you managed without it.not only can you rake out grout ,you can also cut architrave, skirting, hard to reach pipes, nails ,cut out dry lining sections for jobs in kitchens between worktops and units. They are not cheap tools but its great never having to cut around architrave again!!!!!!. any other questions then give me a shout.
