Re: one of those days!
Yesterday I was doing some dry lining and had called into a local merchant to pick up some MDF for a cheap window sill.
I was using 9mm as the customer just wanted me to screw it down over an existing sill to give him a level surface, as opposed to the mess that was there before.
Anyway I had to buy a min 8x4 sheet. It was loaded up for me and TBH I didn't look at it closely. When I went to get it out about 20 mins later the van stank of damp MDF!
On cloder inspection there were spores on the edges and over quite a bit of the surface.
I only needed about 1/3rd of it, so I managed to find a bit that was OK. But I did call them about it. Tomorrow I've got to go back so I'll be showing them the rest of it. I suspect they'll give me a few freebies to make up for it.

Re: one of those days!
Bulging disc
Disc between vertebrae slightly displaced and pressing on to nerves, brain sends signal to protect the spinal chord at all costs and causes spasms and tightening as well as swelling. Supporting curve with rolled up towel or lumbar roll while lying down with knees also supported can help relax into the right position, gentle movement when possible, but nothing forced. Practitioner (osteopathic) treatment sooner rather than later. Pulling in your tummy muscles and then tensing strongly while lying in lumbar supported position can correct positional distortion. Muscle relaxing medication, such as syndol, can help, also anti-inflammatories, herbal anti inflammatory (Devil's Claw) and even nerve relaxants like calms or nytol. Cools spray or ice apck - NOT heat.

No, but I think the merchant might have done, they're even tighter than me.
The following day I saw the rest of it. All their 9mm and about 5 sheets of their 12mm was affected. But the other 5 sheets of 12mm was fine.
I think I'll be buying my sheet materials elsewhere in future. Come to think of it they're sawn timber has deteriorated of late as well.
They are very tight with stock. They try and shift stock at full price that other merchants would either bin or sell off at fire sale prices. Plasterboard is a good example. I buy damaged sheets for £2 inc vat from my local Travis Perkins. I bought one for this job that had damaged corners and a surface tear in the middle. As I was going to cut it up it wasn't an issue.
This other merchant would try and sell much worse (damaged sides etc) for full price on the basis that most customers are going to cut it down anyway.

Re: one of those days!
i did a similar thing last year
replacing a bath splash back for a housing ass so there was no money in it had to get in job done and out to the next one
return next day to grout and seal
just polishing off ,sat on bog and cracked seat, happened to have spare seat as they had given me a box of them to change the odd one as it saved sending the plumber out
went to change seat ,it was one of them really old pans cemented to the floor, i broke the lug off
so that was a new pan , fitted at my expense
not a happy bunny
I know nothing I havent learnt
