    Default The differences between them?

    hi all......

could someone please explain to me in laymans terms the basic differences between cement:sand screed; render; plaster; slurry coat....

I've tried to do a bit of research myself and have found the more I read the more confused I get. Maybe I'm getting too technical.

Anyway, as always, any input would be VERY MUCH appreciated.

Thanks again for all your help in the past. I hope that I can start giving something back in return soon.

    ok Brad,
    1. cement/sand screed is a top coat that goes on top of a concrete floor
    2. render is a sand/cement base coat that goes onto masonry walls
    3. plaster is either a base coat ie bonding, renovating, browning gypsum based plastering coat or a final skim coat ie multi, board, carlite finish(es)
    4. slurry coat is normally a priming agent mixed with cement and sometimes sharp sand and painted on to a surface to give a "key" for sudsequent coverings

Hope this clearss things up for you mate
