removing adhesive
hi all just thought id see if any one knows of a product that can remove cement based addys form floor tiles. had a call from a customer that i gave a quote to, but didnt get the job the kitchen floor was fitted with laminate which needed to be removed and a new sub floor fitted. any way the "tiler" that got the job charged for a new sub floor and guess what tiled straight onto the laminate ( he did at least screw it down mind you he used 4 inch screws. the addy has stuck to the tiles only. so after just 2 days the tiles popped up. unfortunatley the job was done before xmas.the customer now wants me to relay them properly. but they are covered in addy. any suggestions.
cheers
chris

Re: removing adhesive
thanks dave but unfortunatley im not talking about small amounts of adhesive. the whole of the tile is covered by a layer of adhesive say 10mm thick. about 5% of the adhesive stuck to the laminate the rest is on the tiles.

Re: removing adhesive
Yep, can vouch for that, that disc will make short work of the addy.

Re: removing adhesive
if there ceramic stick em in a dustbin of water for a few days the tile should expand enough to cause a slight separation, then take them out one at a time and just scrape them clean, you will then need to rack them to let them dry.
i dont know if this would work nowadays with modded adhesives but it certainly worked years ago.
seems a lot a faffing about, must be less cost buying new ones.
